He must be "so ronery" again because he is desperately trying to get Barry O's attention by threatening to fire a missile at Hawaii on the Fourth of July. While Barry maybe too cool of temperament to fall for such "distractions" -- hey, he's very busy running the car industry, health care and the financial sector into the ground -- he sure as hell has mine. Who knows maybe Barry will be "concerned" .
Conventional wisdom says that this is posturing; Kim would never risk his own annihilation by lobbing a Taepodong-2 missile at the Aloha state. But that's the funny thing about psychopaths, they don't always follow the script. Or has Kim taken Obama's measure and bet (correctly or not) that Obama doesn't have the stones to respond with substantial force.
There has also been speculation that the Taepodong's 4,000 mile range will leave it short of the mark in Hawaii 4,500 miles away. But what if the intelligence estimates are wrong? Heck, they underestimated the size of the nuke Kim recently tested. And let's not forget about the WMD in Iraq. Are we willing to bet lives that the NorKs don't have sufficient technology?
It's too bad we don't have a defense against these kinds of threats. Perhaps a way to shoot down a missile. Of course that is all just a pipe-dream as democrats have constantly reminded us that such a technology is unproven and untenable.
Can we now please promise to only put the adults in charge of national security?
