Grade inflation

It has been a growing problem in academia, but now it has also infected the Executive branch. Obama was asked,by The Oprah, to grade his first year as President. Obama gave himself "a good solid B-plus".
President Barack Obama, in an interview that aired Sunday, gave himself "a good solid B-plus" grade for his first year in office.

Speaking with fellow Chicagoan Oprah Winfrey, the president claimed progress on economic and international fronts.

Obama said the only thing that stands in the way of giving himself a better grade is the fact that some elements of his agenda — health care reform and putting more Americans to work — remain undone.

"The biggest burden on me right now is that economic growth has happened, but job growth has not happened,"

So, he thinks this is a B-plus ?!? In other words, Obama thinks what we have is almost all we can expect out of an Obama administration ?!? So what do we have:

* Unemployment above 10%
* Quadrupling the deficit
* A national debt that has been increased to $12 trillion (yes, trillion)
* Spurned relations with solid allies such as Great Britain and Israel
* Stepped up uranium enrichment in Iran
* Continuing provocation from North Korea
* Gitmo still open for business
* KSM on trial in NYC/ Navy SEALs facing court martial
* A non-stimulative Porkulus
* Cash-for-clunkers
* Pay czars for the private sector while federal jobs and pay flourish
* Crap-and-trade

Please feel free to add your own. It's fun and cathartic.

Clearly not a consensus opinion:

  1. The Ruskies selling chemical weapons to Venezuela after the Great Leader kissed ass and removed the missile shield. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac getting unlimited backing from the Treasury. An anemic 2.5% GDP growth rate coming out of a recession. But on the plus side, the Great Leader got the Nobel Peace Prize! It's all about him, dontcha know.
